Abstract
- Our team identified the lack of hand hygiene throughout the department.
- Hand washing is an important part of infection prevention, and not washing hands properly or not at all, increases the rate of infections for our patients.
- Hand washing stations are out of reach or not available at all in certain areas of the emergency department, making it nearly impossible for optimal hand washing.
- Despite our efforts, hand hygiene habits can be improved throughout Bridgeport Hospital.
